These earrings we a good example of not rushing an idea. I loved the drape of the Byzantine chainmaille weave and the way it looked with these beautiful hand-blown glass balls but it took me a while to figure out what would balance nicely on the other end. A trip to walkabout creek with my little boy and a look at the echidna’s solved that problem for me. I hurried home and whittled down some brass echidna spines for myself. I left the patina on the brass so the sharpened points could really shine.
