I picked up this snake spine during a visit to Broome and have been looking forward to making something from it ever since. Everytime I tried to break this precious spine apart to use the individual vertebrae I simply couldn’t do it - it’s too beautiful as it is! The fish vertebrate was picked up by my daughter on a walk along the beach and handed to me with much excitement.
I chose to balance the bones with oxidised sterling silver pieces and large pearls because I loved the contrast in colour and texture.
