This piece was commissioned by my Aunty Christie-Jane who is one of the most talented seamstresses I have ever met. Everything CJ does is impeccable.

She recently took up the ancient art of loom weaving and has been making the most incredible wraps, throws and shawls from cashmere and silk.

This penannular pin is an ancient design that doesn’t require any hinges or complicated mechanisms. She commissioned me to make this hefty piece in solid sterling silver to accompany a beautiful wrap she had woven for her mother.

Making Celtic-inspired pins on an anvil felt wonderfully viking and collaborating with my Aunty was a real treat.
